This special weekend kicks off the Christmas season at Tuckaway Tree Farm in Central PA, where families can walk our fields, choose their perfect Christmas tree, and “tag” it early for a holiday pickup.
There’s nothing quite like making it your tree weeks before the season begins. Stroll among the evergreens, breathe in the fresh pine, decorate your tag, and start a holiday memory that lasts.
How Tag-Your-Tree Works
Visit the farm during Tag-Your-Tree Weekend (Oct. 25-26).
Pick your preferred Christmas tree variety — we offer Canaan Fir, Concolor Fir, Douglas Fir, Korean Balsam Cross, or Fraser Balsam Cross.
Decorate and tag it with ribbon provided (bright colors are helpful!).
Return later in the season (Opening Day: Nov. 22, 2025) to cut and bring home your reserved tree.
Tag Cost: $25 per tree (this includes a $20 credit toward the price of your tree). The extra $5 helps cover supplies—printing maps, extra tags/ribbon, staffing—to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Make-up Days: If you can’t make it on the official weekend, we’ll hold two make-up days so you still have the opportunity to tag early.
Decorating Your Tree
Decorating your tagged tree makes it unique and fun to find later! Here are some popular ideas:
Use the ribbon we provide, or bring your own bright ribbon so your tree is easier to spot.
Add lightweight ornaments or washable decorations for personal flair.
Include your name or family tag to personalize your tree’s space.
Decorating Contest (Top 5 + Social Vote)
Show off your decorating creativity! During Tag-Your-Tree Weekend, we’ll choose the Top 5 decorated tagged trees and share their photos on our Instagram and Facebook. The community gets to vote for their favorite. The winner will receive a $50 farm gift card and, more importantly, the honor of having the most festive tree of the season.
FAQs About Tag-Your-Tree
Do I have to tag a tree to get one?
Nope! We’ll have plenty of fresh-cut trees, especially 6–7 ft sizes, available all season—even if you don’t tag one in advance.
Who should tag a tree?
If you want a larger tree (8-9 ft or taller) — those tend to sell out first.
If you prefer to reserve your tree ahead of time and pick up later.
If you enjoy making a day out of it—walking the fields, decorating your tag, and building holiday memories.
What are the make-up days?
If you miss Oct. 25-26, you can still tag during the make-up days. Dates will be announced soon (one weekend day and one weekday) and are designed for those who need a little flexibility.
What happens if I buy a tag, but don’t tag a tree?
The $20 tree credit is non-refundable, but you can use it for other merchandise in our Christmas store (honey, gifts, wreaths, etc.).
